ALL-CAMPUS C.O.L.O.R. Carnival! Culture of love offering release. An annual event open to the UIC campus that provides hands-on interactive experiences of wellness. Any way shape or form that you practice wellness can be portrayed here. April, 2019 was held in the UIC REC MAC GYM and we hope to host it there again next year! With the help of Make Believe Professionals we were able to reach so many awesome people. Come with an open mind and see the many different ways to interact with your UIC Community!
Hosted in the East Campus Quad every semester! Look for the giant board with colorful sticky notes on the main wall in the Quad. Come by and add a fear or help someone overcome theirs.
Everyone has a fear. A curse set upon us from the beginning to the end of life. It makes us feel alone and captured in the dark. No one is alone, because we all have a fear too. The only way to take a fear off is to take it all out. So post your fear on the wall, and look at the real size of it. It’s small, the size of a post-it note. Look around and see what others fear. Got any suggestions? Help others conquer their own fears and feel great doing so.
Remember, be brave, be fearless.
- Tuesday, November 27th from 1:00-3:00 pm in Commuter Student Resource Center. Email [email protected] with any questions you may have.
UICs Student Wellness Collective is inviting you and your friends and family to participate in the 1st Annual All Campus COLOR Carnival!
The main idea of this event is Creative Communication Cultivating Collective Consciousness.
Creative Communication = Art
Cultivating = Intentional
Collective Consciousness = the set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society
So what we mean by this is we will use art to intentionally develop community amongst people of differing backgrounds and perspectives.
There will be live music, creation stations, play stations, flow artists, productive artists, and even if you don't see yourself as an artist we will be creating a group project as this carnival is a communal artistic expression in and of itself.
Through this experience we will be focusing on providing avenues for individual and community health to be inspired by our playing together!
This event is somewhat intentionally not limited to any direction as it will be directed by those who attend based on the gifts they wish to share. Communication comes from a Latin word comunicare meaning to share and on this day during this time we will be sharing our divine gifts and personal experiences to grow closer, subverting cultural barriers through love, compassion, understanding and especially art (Creative Communication)
-Saturday, April 28th from 1:00-6:00pm in the UIC Quad. Email [email protected] with any questions you may have.
